Story in brief:
As one of the toughest props in the game, Mason brings a wealth of experience with him. Starting his career at Wakefield Wildcats, he went on to represent NRL side Melbourne Storm, before returning to the UK to team up with Ian Millward and Lee Gilmour at St Helens. The Dewsbury-born forward made his next move to the Tigers for his first stint at the club and left in 2006 to join the Huddersfield Giants.
The 2009 Coaches Player of the Year played over 100 games for the Giants and made 19 appearances for the side in 2012. He joins the Tigers in full fitness.
Castleford Tigers head coach Ian Millward said, "I was in search of an experienced forward who could offer a presence both in training and on the field and Keith fits that bill. Having previously coached him at St Helens, I know him to have one of the best work ethics in the game; he commands respect from his peers and will no doubt have a positive impact on the team.
"I am confident that Keith still has some of his best years ahead of him which should also create some healthy competition between the forwards as we gear up for next season. He starts with immediate effect and will join the squad in training tomorrow (Thursday)."
Mason is Millward's eighth signing for the 2013 season, joining Lee Gilmour, Michael Shenton, Jake Webster, Jamie Ellis, Jordan Tansey, Justin Carney and Weller Hauraki.
