Story in brief:
Castleford Tigers have confirmed that a celebratory free entry event will take place the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Bank Holiday Monday to welcome the team home from Wembley.
The Tigers will face Leeds Rhinos at the most prestigious match in Rugby League, the Tetley's Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 23rd August.
Leeds and Castleford have not lifted the trophy in a combined 33 years, which promises to make this one of the best all Yorkshire battles every encountered.
Win or lose Castleford Tigers recognise the immense support they have received from Castleford Fans.
Michelle Cooper, media and marketing manager for Castleford Tigers said; "The last week has been amazing for the town of Castleford and we are overwhelmed by the buzz reaching the Tetley's Challenge Cup Final has created in our town. Most clubs only celebrate a victory at Wembley but we feel it's appropriate to reward our fans regardless of the outcome on Saturday. Of course we hope the whole town get behind us and back us all the way to a win, and we'll look forward to welcoming our Castleford Tigers family along to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle to welcome the boys back home."
Turnstiles will open at the Jungle from 13.00hrs on Monday 25th August, on a purely first come first serve basic. We will fill the stadium but of course we can only take our capacity. Once inside fans will make their way into the stands (no reserved seating) and at 2.00pm the Castleford Tigers Challenge Cup Final team will take to the pitch for a lap of honour and live interviews. Fans will also have the opportunity to take photos and collect player autographs. Food and drink will be available to purchase on the day.
At 5.30pm the team will depart the Jungle and head to Castleford Civic Centre for their official Civic Reception. The bars at the Jungle will remain open into the early evening for fans wishing to continue their celebrations at the club.
Please note there will be no parking available at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle for this event. Disabled blue badge holders need to reserve a space on a first come first serve basis by calling the club on 01977 552674 by Thursday 21st August.
