Story in brief:
JT and The Claws joined in the fun at the opening of Disability Sport Yorkshire's new HQ, the Denhale ARC in Wakefield, on Monday 16th February.
After the official opening by The Lord Mayor of Wakefield The Claws launched into one of their highly charged routines before taking their seats in adapted wheelchairs and taking a full part in the wheelchair basketball. There was a throwback to school netball as The Claws scored many baskets.
The purpose of the day was to showcase the great facilities at Denhale and to present opportunities for inclusive sports for young and old. JT played his part as did the Tigers Trust community staff who delivered an inclusive rugby session as well as taking part in the table tennis and indoor cricket.
The day was a great success. Kevan Halliday-Brown, Chief Executive of Disability Sport Yorkshire thanked everyone for the support at the official opening and community open day event and said: "'This went better than we could have hoped with huge attendance, lots of feedback and leads to follow-up."
